Job Description

Who Are Massive Rocket?
Massive Rocket is a rapidly scaling Braze and Snowflake agency on a mission to transform how digital marketing, product, and engineering teams connect. In just five years, we’ve grown at speed and are now gearing up for our next big milestone: hitting $100M in revenue. We build human experiences at scale, powered by cutting‑edge web, mobile, cloud, data, and AI technologies. If you’re excited by innovation, love solving complex challenges, and want to help shape the future of digital experiences, you’ll feel right at home here.

Every role at Massive Rocket is entrepreneurial. The people who thrive here don’t just focus on their own remit — they understand the goals of the teams around them and actively contribute to the success of their colleagues, customers, and partners. We’re building a culture of ownership, collaboration, and growth, and we’re looking for people who want to make a real impact.

Who Are We Looking to Add to Our Team?
As a Financial Data Analyst at Massive Rocket, you'll play a key role in supporting our Finance team by turning raw financial data into clear, accurate, and actionable insights. This is a hands-on, data-focused role where your ability to work with complex datasets, build robust reports, and automate repetitive processes will make a real difference to how we operate.

You'll be the go-to person for financial reporting and data transformation — someone who doesn't just process numbers but understands what they mean and knows how to present them in a way that drives decisions. You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and cross-functional teams, ensuring our financial data is always accurate, well-structured, and easy to interpret.

Your impact will be measured by the quality and reliability of your reporting outputs, the efficiency gains you bring through automation, and your ability to support the business with timely, data-driven financial insight.

What Will You Do?
  • Own the build and maintenance of financial reports, dashboards, and data models using advanced Excel and Google Sheets
  • Transform and structure complex financial datasets to support analysis, forecasting, and decision-making
  • Design and maintain pivot tables, dynamic reports, and summary views that give stakeholders clear visibility into financial performance
  • Automate recurring finance processes and reporting workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities with accurate data reconciliation and reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working alongside the Finance Manager
  • Process and track invoices, expenses, and reimbursements with a high degree of accuracy
  • Respond to internal finance queries, providing clear and well-supported data to back up your answers
  • Maintain well-organised financial documentation and records in line with internal standards

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data, or a related field
  • Up to two years' experience in a finance, accounting, or data-focused role
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel — pivot tables, complex formulas, data modelling, and automation are second nature to you
  • Strong experience with Google Sheets and the wider Google Workspace suite
  • A demonstrated ability to work with financial data — transforming, cleaning, and structuring it for reporting purposes
  • Solid understanding of core financial and accounting principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly
  • Well-organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • A proactive, self-starting approach — you look for ways to improve processes, not just maintain them
  • English proficiency at C1 level

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Google Apps Script or Excel VBA to build automated workflows
  • Familiarity with accounting or ERP software, ideally Xero
  • Exposure to data visualisation tools or financial reporting platforms
  • Experience with basic bookkeeping practices and financial reporting methodologies
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders
