About the role

As a Financial Analyst at Sporty, you will be an integral part of an expanding Finance team in a new market. You will collaborate closely and operationally with multiple internal and external stakeholders.  

What you'll be doing

  • Support in managing accounts payable and receivable, with a focus on digital payment methods (payment providers, SPEI)
  • Perform daily, detailed reconciliations of high volumes of data. Identify and resolve all differences promptly through engaging with Payment Service Providers, Operations, and Fraud teams
  • Process invoices, ensuring on-time approval and payment. Resolve any queries with vendors to ensure a smooth and efficient procure-to-pay cycle
  • Support daily cash flow management and bank account reconciliations
  • Perform key financial controls, constantly reviewing and refining these to ensure they operate at optimal levels
  • Record and control accounts payable and receivable
  • Provide ongoing and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support data-based decision-making
  • Prepare financial reports and support operational performance analysis
  • Work alongside compliance and product teams to ensure the security of financial operations
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain strong working relationships with local banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
  • Represent the company in communications with government agencies and industry associations, when requested

  • To be successful in this role, you’ll need at least 5 years of experience as an Accountant, Treasury, or Finance professional, with at least 1 of those years being in the betting or fintech industries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related fields
  • A relevant accounting qualification is required. You should have a working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures and be proficient in using accounting software
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and practical communication abilities are also critical
  • At least two years of proven experience in Treasury or Finance
  • Knowledge of banking systems and corporate finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Analytical, detail-oriented profile with strong logical reasoning
  • Interest in working in the sports betting or fintech sector
  • Advanced/Fluent English
  • Experience with high-volume reconciliations (microtransactions)

Even better if

  • Intermediate Portuguese
  • Experience and familiarity in the gaming, betting market, or online entertainment, betting, fintech, or e-commerce sectors
