Responsibilities
Peratonâs Risk Decision Group is seeking a Director of Product Management and Project Management to lead the strategy, execution, and growth of defined product lines through comprehensive product planning, market analysis, and lifecycle management. This leader owns the strategy and endâtoâend execution of background investigations lifecycle requirements, guiding the development of nextâgeneration case management systems and integrating emerging technologies to strengthen mission outcomes. The ideal candidate combines a deep understanding of industry standards, evolving government customer direction, and operational processes, and can translate those requirements into actionable technical specifications that drive innovation.
This is a 100% Remote position.
Responsibilities
- Own and define the product vision, roadmap, and strategic direction for background investigations lifecycle and case management systems
- Translate government customer needs, industry standards, policy changes, and mission requirements into detailed technical requirements and user stories.
- Lead planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery of complex IT and product development projects within RDGâs product portfolio.
- Define project scope, milestones, resource plans, and timelines, ensuring alignment with product strategy and organizational priorities
- Lead planning, prioritization, and delivery across crossâfunctional teams using Agile or hybrid methodologies.
- Conduct research and feasibility analysis to identify improvements, emerging technologies, and new capabilities
- Manage product backlogs, project schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations
- Develop and maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, status reports, budgets, communications plans, and risk registers.
- Drive changeâmanagement activities including communication planning, stakeholder updates, endâuser training coordination, and rollout readiness.
- Manage crossâfunctional teams including engineering, QA, security, policy, and business stakeholders
Qualifications
Required
- US Citizenship required
- Active Top Secret eligible clearance; Active federal background investigation with a T5 adjudication
- 16 years general work experience
- Must have a strong understanding of SEAD 4 & SEAD 5, federal investigator standards, and all phases of the background investigation process from case initiation to adjudication
- Must have strong understanding of DCSA and DHS BI processes and full endâtoâend BI workflow from intake through adjudication.
- Must have strong understanding of project management principles, processes, and experience managing a PM team while innovating and improving PM practices.
- Must have experience designing, implementing, or modernizing case management systems (CMS) supporting federal background investigations or personnel vetting workflows.
- Must have strong familiarity with federal suitability, security clearance, and credentialing frameworks (Tiers, eâQIP replacement processes, adjudicative guidelines, continuous vetting).
- Must have strong knowledge of Trusted Workforce 2.0 and its requirements as it relates to technology implementation
- Must have demonstrated experience working directly with DCSA, DHS, or other federal BI stakeholders on requirements, process modernization, or technology transformation.
- Must understand investigative data flows, records management, and informationâexchange requirements across federal systems (e.g., NBISârelated processes, eApp, CVS, CE).
- Must have experience leading requirements development for workflow automation, investigative tasking, and case lifecycle tracking.
- Must be able to translate endâtoâend BI operational needs into system capabilities supporting intake, field investigations, review/quality checks, and adjudication readiness.
Preferred
- Experience supporting nationalâlevel vetting modernization programs.
- Experience designing or integrating tools for adjudication support, automated records checks, or continuous vetting workflows.
- Familiarity with DCSA and DHS enterprise architectures, interface control documents, and dataâexchange standards.
- Experience delivering products in highly regulated, missionâcritical federal environments requiring FISMA, FedRAMP, or RMF compliance.
- Strong understanding of industry best practices for case management design (workflow orchestration, dynamic forms, rules engines, audit trails).
- Experience with changeâmanagement and userâadoption strategies for federal investigative or adjudicative communities.
